Cfe-350

Yes, I bought one CFE-350 some years ago. I like it, but don't use it often. Works very fine with the CFV-39 back as you can see. Needs tripod. Shooting out of hand is partically impossible.

I have the 350mm F5.6 C (non T*) Tele-Tessar, and I love it. I have only been using it handheld. It's been quite useful to zero-in on my younger son, he plays the electric bass in a rockn'roll band. I've posted Polaroids here from a few of his outdoor concerts, will post some film shots when I can get them scanned. It's a very sharp lens I have found.

It's surprisingly lightweight and easy to carry. I've been wanting the 500mm F8, but it's use is more restrictive. So far I have not found one that is in working condition, although yesterday I discovered that Paul Ebel can repair these lenses. KEH and David Odess cannot. David told me he does not have the special Hasselblad-made tools.

I still want the 500 F8 Tele-Tessar, for my limited uses.

Here are a couple of Fuji Instant tests from recent Rock concerts, made with the 350mm. This is 400EI B&W available only in Japan. Once I got a good confirmation shot on 'roid, I switched to an A12 of Ilford 3200 (at the same exposure setting for B&W coverage) and Fuji NPZ 800EI for color coverage. Negs look great and I am -way behind- sending them out for scanning. My wife taps her foot, and rolls her eyes :)

Current Needs: Epson V700, CFV16 Digital Back, 500mm F8 Tele-Tessar, 30mm F3.5 C Distagon w/filters.

I am using my C/Y Zeiss Sonnar T* 2,8/180mm together with the C/Y Zeiss Mutar T* II (540mm !), successfully hand held on my Sony A 7, and my Sony A6000!

The to attached images are made with the 540mm A6000 combo!

Has anyone ever had success with the Hasselblad Zeiss Tele-Tessar C 500 mm f/8.0 Lens? I have never had a really sharp image from this lens even at high shutter speeds on a tripod. The images appear soft with a considerable amount of chromatic aberration.

The C model is quiet old! Maybe you have pushed it against something hard. It seems to be, that the lens need some review! But ZEISS at Oberkochen, won't be able to repair it! But if you give me an PN, I can name you an very good repair shop, with fair prices!

Thank you. The lens now sits on my shelf but I have had other photographers also mention that they were not pleased with the sharpness of this lens.
