Viewing what I see on the D100 LCD on my computer

I am doing still life and would like to hook my laptop to my D100 so I can take the picture and have a larger image to see. I do not want to use the laptop as a viewfinder, I only want to see the picture after it is taken. A 15 inch monitor is easier to read than the 1 ½ inch LCD screen. Can this be done? All I have been able to find is downloading the pictures to the computer or viewing the files on a TV or monitor. Thanks for any help

Have you purchased Nikon Capture?

I believe you can hook your computer via the USB port, use Nikon Control (a program that is contained within the Nikon Capture suite) to shoot directly to your laptop.

This is my first reply, I sure hope I did it right! ;-)

and Bob! Thanks for the info. I have yet to try Nikon Capture. Guess I will give it a shot. Do you have any experience with it? If so what kind of results?
Will this let me see the histogram?
Again thanks

Lee, I don't personally have any experience with using Nikon Control. I do know of some who use it exclusively in their jobs. I would imagine it will allow you to see everything the camera would show you, but please don't quote me on that!

You can get a trial version of Nikon Capture (with the Control module within it) from the Nikon website. If you are in the USA, you can go to the following URL: http://support.nikontech.com/cgi-bin/nikonusa.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=O4-yqUwh&p_lva=&p_faqid=8282&p_created=1068633684&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX2d yaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MjMmcF9wcm9kX2x2bDE9NDImcF9wcm9kX2x2bDI9NDUmcF9jYXRfbHZsMT0yMiZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li=

If that link didn't work properly, I went to http://www.nikonusa.com , clicked on the Software Download -> Nikon Capture -> Software Downloads -> Nikon Capture 4.0 Full Version Trial - Windows

Hope that helps!
