Loke Wan Tho died in 1964 with his wife and in total 57 people died in a plane crash. He's my friend's Uncle. The charted plane they in belonged to a CIA Front Company, which I didn't know. If available, I only can order his books from places like Amazon, Abebooks etc. I once ordered A Company of Birds as a gift for my friend.

"On 20 June 1964, Loke and his wife were killed in the crash of Civil Air Transport Flight B-908, along with his chief executives, leaving Taichung after attending the 11th Asian Film Festival.[1][2][3]"

"Among the dead were 20 Americans, one Briton, and members of the Malaysian delegation to the 11th Film Festival in Asia, including businessman Loke Wan Tho and his wife Mavis.[4][3]"

He was a bird watcher and photographer, he published some now hard to find books.

I have no idea, I found it odd, having read it recently, that they would not have taken a regular flight. I had assumed that it was a regular flight which crashed. These crashes do happen occasionally. I was about one year old in 1964

His Sister, my Mum with her friends. Taken before his Sister’s death in 2014, my mum’s gone too now.

That picture is one of the reasons photography is so important, especially family photography.
I have a photo of my dad's family in about 1952. Most of them are gone now, but through photography, we see them in their prime and remember. I look at my great-grandma's smile and can never recall her without that smile. I think of her sugar cookies still...

Than you. The lady in the Centre, she is still alive, she's over 100 years old now. She was about or over 90 years old at the time.

The Lady on the left, she died in 2012, not 2014.

I had recently discovered, about the lady pictured in the Centre. Her husband and others whom I know/knew, two time Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamed were University Friends. Her husband and my parents’ friends and Tun Mahathir Mohamed were/are Drs. Mostly they are now dead or very old. Tun is now 98 years old.

The Lady pictured in the Centre, I've discovered that she and her Siblings Lineage can be traced back to the Sage Confucius. It was stated in a book about Local Doctors, Doctors Extraordinaire. I didn't know this the entire time that I knew her and her brother's Families. A well kept secret!
