I’m a longtime photo enthusiast and gear obsessive. I started off shooting with a Nikon F and FM in the early 80s, then inherited my grandfather’s Minolta CLE, and kind of disappeared from most photography from the 1990s until the 2000s. Then I returned to both film and digital. I love to fixate on old Leicas and Nikons. I dream of having a Nikon S3 or SP some day.

Hello and welcome. Your mention of Nikon SP /S3 cameras reminds me of the way back... I wound up using a Canon 7S rangefinder for 35 and 50mm usage, when all my shooting associates were shooting Leicas for "inside, dark, or close quarters" and Nikon Fs for most other work. None of them seemed to use Nikon SP rangefinders and I didn't even know Nikon made a rangefinder in those days.
But it looks like a cool camera. I'd like one too.

Re. the old Nikon rangefinder you want, my advice is to splurge and get one now; they’re only increasing in value.
For my part, I like Rollei 35s and Olympus rangefinders. Granddad’s Yashica Electro 35 gives them a run for the money, even if it’s not too svelte.
