I looked at that image again and the reason I suggested that it was a bit flat was that whites s/b white and blacks s/b black. On my monitor the contrast is not coming throught like it is for your male model. Might be my monitor (an LCD on a notebook).

LCD displays are known for their struggle to reproduce real blacks and shadow detail. Only tubes for me so far ...

The latest Apple LCDs have intrigued me and are probably the only current temptation. Seeing as I have a dual-head system, we're looking at around $5K including graphics card

For those in a tight budget, the 20D also perform well in hi ISO, and noise level is low in shadow area. I believe they all use the same image processing engine. I don't think the 20D has ISO 3200 though.

Marc, What is you take on using the 1DsMKII vs. a 16meg digital back?
 
Don't know yet Albert. But I suspect the MF back will still prevail. The sensor is still much larger than the 1DsMKII.
 
Antony, I run two 22" NEC CRTs at 1792x1344 each, so basically two HD monitors. The 23" Apple Cinema HD LCDs run 1920x1200 - a bit wider and a biter shorter. I actually lose a tad in area if I go with the Apple LCD. BTW they run around $2000US this side of the Pond. Still not cheap

Yes, that would be the way to go. I did check them out. Though obviously a lot thinner and lighter, they're 27" wide, about 8" wider than my current monitors, too wide for my current physical setup. So for now the 23s would be the way to go. I'm considering them because my monitors are several years old and starting to show it, much like me
