Barnageera Beach lies halfway between Skerries and Balbriggan on the east coast of Ireland.
It can be a nice place to visit via a footbridge (called the Lady's Stairs) which crosses over
both a railway line and a road from the country estate of Ardgillan. The footbridge was used by the Taylor family of Ardgillan when the ladies of the house wished to go bathing on the beach.
The beach has quite high cliffs - on which I saw several pairs of Fulmar (a seabird which nests on cliffs) - and is susceptible to erosion. To halt erosion there are a couple of small groynes strategically placed to absorb the full impact of the often severe tides.
