i'm going start my career as a photographer. there should be an international qualification.but i've no idea. please suggest me , how can i achieve that. or is that necessary? if so, then if there any oppertunity to achieve online..pls help

It all depends on what sort of photographer you intend to be, self employed or working for someone else, and what your experience is. Qualifications are great if you want to work on the staff of a newspaper for ex&le, as it may give you the edge over other applicants. It also increases your own knowledge and confidence. If you want to run a studio, go freelance or do weddings then you might want to consider working as an assistant for an established photographer- there is nothing like the actual experience you can get there- you can't learn it in a classroom!

There is only one true qualification. It has nothing to do with equipment or education. It is your vision, which can be spiritual or practical, but must demonstrate that you have an eye for making images that other people want to see.

I may be pleased by the images I make, but unless others find them attractive also, I will make no money nor hang in any galleries nor find employment with a publication.

Having said that, I must also say that you can learn to make good images by studying the photography of others and learning the basics of handling equipment and using software or darkrooms to manipulate and/or produce images.

Journalism does often require a college education, although there are working photojournalists and reporters who do not have degrees. But the more you learn, the better you can interpret for others, so schooling can be very helpful.

Schools can teach essential skills. Daytona Beach Community College is one recognized for its photography program and many commercial and art photographers have begun their careers there. As Emma said, however, experience working for someone already skilled is a great way to learn.
