Stairs at the BnF

The Simone de Beauvoir footbridge was designed and built by a consortium led by Eiffel Constructions Métalliques, now Eiffage Métal. It crosses the Seine just opposite the François Mitterrand site of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BnF) the towers of which can be seen in the background of the following image.

These stairs have a reputation for being particularly slippery in wet weather. I do not know if it is worse when there is a bit of snow, but it is clear that nobody ventures up them.

As you would expect, the closer you get, the more abstract these stairs become.
