This is the first in a series of articles dedicated to the Air Legend 2023 show (Melun-Villaroche airfield). Propeller-driven aircraft are particularly tricky to photograph. With a very short exposure time, their propellers appear to be stopped, and if you extend the exposure time too much, the body of the plane becomes blurred too. I practiced with a Pitts S-2B on the ground, where a compromise is easier to find.
Jets do not present this kind of problem (unless you want to convey an impression of speed with a suitable blur). Here are some Navy Rafales, recognizable by their landing hooks .
- NIKON CORPORATION - NIKON D850
- 150-600 mm f/5.0-6.3
- 600.0 mm
- ƒ/6.3
- 1/250 sec
- Pattern
- Manual exposure
- ISO 90
