Old leica info

J

jacques

I recently bought an old leica but each time I take a picture, i have to set the speed since the dial does not come back to the same one. Is that ok?

Dear Jacques,

It appears you have bought a "screw-thread" camera, in which case the shutter speed is set when the film is wound-on and the shutter cocked.

After taking the picture and winding on again, the same shutter speed should be set.

Have fun they are great cameras, but are like driving a vintage car.
