I went to the Parc de Sceaux on Monday morning in the hope of photographing le gué I mentioned yesterday. I found it was only open in the afternoon. This gave me the opportunity to photograph the Grand Canal with low-angled lighting on the opposite side to the one I was familiar with.

Interesting how sometimes the surprises, or change of plans at the moment, can offer unexpected opportunities to create an excellent image -- as this one is. It's a very interesting perspective. Real "compression" from that 600mm. Nice.
