Unless the ghosts of the Internet have put my machine into wayback mode ;) , I-R website seems to be up again. No new content, but it's back up....

yes, I can see it also now...but no new content or message for the visitor.

I saw an article on Thom Hogan's site, that BeBop wants to sell all photography sites for a total of USD 500.000.

See here:

Update: all the photography assets (Outdoor Photographer, DigitalPhotoPro, DigitalPhoto, and Imaging-Resource) are being offered by BeBop for US$500,000, including all archives. That seems overpriced to me, as it is an “as-is” sale, doesn’t guarantee any contributors will carry on, and there are tangible not-yet-paid-for content costs involved.

While the archival content has some value, the primary value would be based on site traffic. IR was getting about the same monthly traffic as the bythom site, but with less engagement (fewer pages per visit, far less visit duration, etc.). Someone who knows site valuation would have a difficult time justifying the price, methinks. Either that, or I should sell my sites ;~).

I wonder if it was sold and now under new ownership?

I do not think so. If it would have been already sold, the new owner would at least post an announcement on that page. The number of visitors of that site will shrink with each day without new information. And for content sites like this, you are worth something only if you have many visitors daily/monthly.

In my view, they still try to find a buyer. But a buyer wants to see for what he is paying for, therefore they needed to put the site up again.
