Hi, everyone!

I've only used DPReview for reviews in the past, but wanted to ask a question about a camera I purchased recently.

Unaware of the DPReview controversies, though curious. Sounds like it was sold recently.

I'm interested in amateur photography. Probably just digital, but a slight curiousity about film.

Hello, and welcome, from SE Wisconsin, USA!

I guess you posted the camera question elsewhere in these fora?

Yes, it was sold recently. Amazon was just intending to shut it down, but somehow made a deal with someone to buy it. So they're under new ownership. I hear the ads are much more obtrusive now. I don't know if there was a controversy, just a lot of speculation since DPR didn't communicate much.

Film is great fun, but more work and more expense. (once the camera gear is paid-for) I think there is a benefit in shooting film, because one can't just snap away and pick the best shot from hundreds. It forces one to either think more or go broke. ;-)

This is a friendlier place, I've found. (I'm a retired moderator from DPR, so maybe that counts for something)

Enjoy your stay!
