Camera shakeno mirror lock

I have been taking some long exposure landscape shots (5-15 sec exposures) with my new D70. Naturally I am using a tripod. I have noticed some fuzziness in the pictures. I assume this is because there is no mirror lock with the D70. It is a little better using the timer. Has anyone else noticed this. Why does Nikon not include mirror locks except in the very expensive top of the line camera models.

I don't suppose it would be as an incentive to buy more expensive top of the line camera models would it?
