I see DPR has decided to monetize .., oops I mean treat its users as battery chickens - either they accept ads pumped at them, or pay for an ad-free subscription.
That kills it totally as far as I'm concerned.
I would also ad that since its recovery from a a near-death experience the behavior of users on DPR resembles battery chickens, in that the mass pounce on anyone who dares to dissent from the view of the status quo, and pecks them to death.
The moment the owners decide to monetize a website like DPR marks a transition to joining the ranks of Farcebook, Twittwat, X (I can't spell Twitter) etc.
